| As a This afternoon we went for a walk around our local area, we were set a mission by Leading Petrologist Dr Sarah Stone from the British Rock Society, she had an urgent problem. All of the data about rocks around Kirton and Trimley had been lost when the database crashed. She asked us to do a rock survey in our local area and knew we had been learning about rocks so thought we would know lots of information. We looked at and took pictures of old buildings, houses and had a go at describing them and tried naming the rocks. Well done for being super sensible Year 3. As a treat at the end of our walk we had 10 minutes playing on rec! In Art this half term we have been learning about drawing and shading. We had a go at taking our pencil for a walk on a piece of paper then used different shading techniques like cross hatching and free styling and had a go at making dark and light shading tones. We even got to use different pencils which help give different colour tones. |
