Please could we just remind you that the children should have their reading book, reading record and sound folder in their book bag everyday.
We aim to change books Mondays and Fridays. Many thanks I just wanted to say a quick thank-you to all of you who were able to attend our 'Meet the Teacher' session yesterday evening, it was lovely to see so many of you.
Apologies if I ran through it rather quickly....or began to waffle! If you do have any questions you thought of afterwards, please just ask the member of staff on the door. Thanks again, Miss Rushbrooke Just as they did yesterday, all of the children came into school fantastically today, and again settled in really well.
This morning, the children had their first taste of a P.E lesson. We took our shoes and socks off and all went into the hall with Mr Childs, where we had some fun games with the Parachute, such as taking it in turns to run under the parachute and swap places with each other, and trying to make ping-pong balls bounce off the top as we shook it. This afternoon we had lots of fun putting our names on the planning board, deciding which activities and games we wanted to play with, and just 'getting used' to the daily routines of the school day and exploring the new environment. Meet the Teacher We hope to meet lots of you at our 'Meet the Teacher' presentation on Monday (10th September) straight after school. In the past we have sent the children out to parents first so we can quickly set the classroom up, and then invited everyone back in -this seems to work well so we plan to do the same again, The session usually lasts about 1/2 an hour. If you are unable to make the session, and would like me to print you off a copy of the slides, or arrange to go through the information another time, please let one a member of staff know. Many thanks (have a look at some of the pictures from Day 2....) First of all, we would just like to say how wonderfully all the children came in this morning...they settled into their new classroom brilliantly.
Probably just like the children and yourselves....we had 'first day back' nerves this morning, but there really was no need....all the children have had a lovely day full of playing and exploring their new environment, story telling, lunch eating in the school hall and playing on the field. They really have settled in well and we are looking forward to more of the same tomorrow for Day 2! Have a look at some of the fun we have had today...... Miss & Mrs Rushbrooke |
