Great fun had by all!
Today we carried out an investigation to see which material would be strongest for the pigs house and why. We spent time predicting the result thinking about why certain materials would be suitable and why some wouldn't. We then constructed our buildings using either bricks, straw or sticks. The big bad wolf hair dryer paid us a visit and huffed and puffed to see which houses would blow away. Maybe you can ask the children which material was the best and why? Great fun had by all!

Welcome back, I hope you had a lovely Easter break. This week we started our new topic of 'Traditional Tales'. We used the story packs to re-enact stories like Jack and the Beanstalk, Little Red Riding hood, The Three Billy Goats Gruff and The Three Little Pigs. We tried hard to use expression, remembering the beginning, middle and end of the story. The performances were fantastic. We have also been thinking about our History topic 'Castles'. We have been sharing what we already know and what we would like to find out. Our school trip to Colchester Castle is booked for Tuesday 17th May. At the beginning of next term the children will be using cereal/cardboard boxes and kitchen roll tubes in DT. If you have any at home please save them and bring them in the first week back. Every child is going to need a few of each...so get saving! Thank you. |
