In science we have been continuing to explore materials. We experimented with the different ways we could move materials: twisting, stretching, bending and squashing. The children really enjoyed using the flump marshmallows and balloons!

Thank you to those who let me know their confusion regarding the odd and even shapes maths homework. I have attached an example, in their homework books, of what I think the homework was asking for. However, as long as your child had their best attempt that is all we can ask for :)
Kind regards Miss Thurlow Thank you to the grown ups who came to help with our fruit kebabs today. We had great fun making and tasting them!
Mrs Ross emailed us to ask for our help to find a missing chocolate cake. In our first computing lesson we learnt how to send an email on our class gmail account. We had to think about how to access the Internet and really concentrate when signing in as email addresses and passwords are tricky.
We replied to Mrs Ross and we're now hoping to start to solve the mystery of the missing cake! Our new topic for science is "move it!" This continues to focus on the properties of different materials, in particular how we can manipulate them. We made flying fish out of card and paper and explored how they moved. We really enjoyed dropping our fish during a very windy break time! :)
Well done to all the super scientists in Year 2. Miss Thurlow |
