Children loved making porridge, they measured out the ingredients, followed instructions carefully and used a microwave to cook their own porridge, while eating it they said which character out of 'Goldilocks and the Three Bears' they were most like. Some were so full afterwards they said they needed a lie down just like Goldilocks!

This week we have continued our learning on traditional tales in science we read the three little pigs and planned an investigation to see which house would keep the pigs safe from the scary wolf. We predicted which one we thought may be best and explained why. We then built our houses using straw, sticks and bricks and tested them, as we don't have any wolves living nearby we used a hair dryer. We thought carefully about making the test fair and made sure the hairdryer was on the same setting each time and held it on hour houses for 10 seconds. A lot of out predictions were right and the house made of bricks was the strongest.
At the beginning of next term the children will be using cereal/cardboard boxes and kitchen roll tubes in DT. If you have any at home please save them and bring them in or the first week back. Every child is going to need a few of each...so get saving! Thank you.
