Trimley St Martin hosted the annual Tag Rugby Festival this afternoon. Children from Years 4 to 6 from five schools came along to learn new skills and have fun playing against each other. The afternoon was a great reflection on the fabulous children across the Felixstowe Schools, as they demonstrated great sportsmanship, respect and cooperation as they played each game. Well done to all those that took part and a special thanks to Mr Childs who organised the event and Mr Barnard who refereed and supported the games. Throughout the year Mr Harvey (School Volunteer) works with small groups of Year 6 children to discover, enjoy and recite poems. Today was recital day for the first group..... Fabulous, outstanding and amazing are a few words to describe the children's efforts, attitude, hard work and recitation. The next group have a lot to work up to! Congratulations to the first set of Gem Winners. Each 1/2 term 7 children from each class will be presented with a Gem Award. Our Gems are designed to create and celebrate fabulous learning behaviours. You can be awarded a Gem Award for; Cooperation- I can work with others as a team Reflective- I do not mind making mistakes. I can learn from them. I think about how I can improve. Adventurous- I like to try new things and can push myself. I am ambitious and aim high. I am able to have a go. Concentration- I remain focused on what I am doing. I am able to focus on the right things. I am a good listener. Creativity- I can use my imagination and develop my own ideas. I can make connections. I am curious. Independence; I can use my intuition. I can make decisions. I can get on with my work and play. I can recognise when I need support. Perseverance- I can keep going when things are tough. I do not let things stop me achieving my goals. I bounce back. Today Year 6 travelled to the Riverside Centre in Saxmundham to take take in a national imitative called The Crucial Crew. The event provided a safe environment to learn about everyday dangers and issues in a fun and informative manner.
