We found 1/3 of amounts by using counters and sharing them equally into 3 parts of a piece of card - just like we did last week with 1/2 and 1/4.
We also played a game our table teams in which we were given a set of shapes which had been shaded. We had to work out if the shape had been shaded into 1/2, 1/4, 1/3 or 3/4. We had to discuss as a team which fraction we thought it was showing and then sort the shapes into the corresponding Hula-hoops at the front of the classroom. It was lots of fun and we did really well. Take a look.....
