What an amazing concert we had last night (Saturday December 10th) with 41 of our children singing at Kirton Church Hall with the Ipswich Gilbert & Sullivan Society. This is the children's first performance in front of an audience and they did this to a packed hall. Having opened the concert with two soloists singing Once in Royal David's City, the children sang Walking in the Air, Away in a Manger and While Shepherds Watched Their Flocks. After enjoying lots of cake, in the second half the children then sang Do You Hear What I Hear, Jingle Bells, Winter Wonderland and Rocking Around The Christmas Tree. The children finished the concert off by joining the G&S choir to sing O Come All Ye Faithfull and We Wish You a Merry Christmas. The children thoroughly enjoyed the evening. We can't wait to sing again at Kirton Church on the 18th December - this time with a smaller choir as we cannot accommodate the whole choir in the church.
| Two soloists opening the concert with the first verse of Once in Royal David's City. Sorry, we didn't quite get the very start of the this. Our soloists here are from out Year 5 class and certainly opened the concert beautifully. |
The TSM Choir singing a Christmas favourite, Away In A Manager. All the songs sang by the choir were so well received by our most appreciative audience. Below - some of the members of the Ipswich G&S choir who sang with the children. | |
