‘In Geography this week we learnt about Earthquakes. What they are, what causes them and also their locations. We used an egg to represent the earth. The cracked shell to represent the earths crust and then cut inside the egg to look at the mantle and core. We researched recent earthquakes and plotted them on a world map before making our own earthquake model that you can see in the photos’ We also used crackers (techtonic plates) and shaving foam (mantle) to show plate movement.
We looked at the work of Dr Maggie Aderin-Pocock. We then carried out experiments on Meteorite Impact, Lava lamps, Rain Clouds and Sticky Ice.
We had a brilliant World Book Day !! We made an 8 Metre trail of our books to share ! We then completed a Book Hunt and Scavenger Book Hunt, while sharing each other's recommended reads !
