On Monday we went to Colchester Castle to find out more about the Romans. It was really interesting! Did you know that Colchester Castle is the largest Norman Keep in Europe? It was constructed on the foundations of the Temple of Claudius, built when Colchester was the first Roman capital of Britain in AD 54-60. We were able to go under the castle into the foundations of the Roman temple. Afterwards we were able to look around the museum and find out more about the Romans and dress up! Then we worked together in groups to build our own Roman Temples.
