We have completed an Nrich problem solving task to decide which shapes could have made these shadows.
We took our maths lesson outside today to find matching fractions and pictures which show the fraction. We had to think very carefully about what each fraction actually meant. E.g. one half is one of two equal parts.
We've been thinking about the position of the hour hand and the clues this can give us to telling the time. We found out that o'clock times sit exactly on the hour position. At half past times the hour hand sits half way between the two hours. When it's quarter past, the hour hand sits just past the hour position. At quarter to times, the hour hand sits closest to the new hour but not quite touching it. Well done Year 2!
