In Science we are looking at Classifying Critters. We have been investigating branching keys, looking at ways of sorting animals into different categories. It can be quite tricky! We started off by classifying ourselves on the playground and then we had a go at classifying different animals in groups of 3. Thinking about different characteristics and using yes and no questions.
Thank you to all the parents who came to 'Meet the Teacher' on Thursday after school. It's a chance to not only meet me, but also find out about the expectations for Year 6 and ask any questions.
As promised here are the apps I suggested may help with Maths and should make learning spellings a little easier in Key Stage 2. They are a range of apps called Squeebles and are created by 'KeyStageFun' who create exciting, colourful, educational games for children on the iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch, Mac and Android (including Amazon’s Kindle Fire devices).
For any parents who were unable to attend, the information received has been sent home and if you go to the Mandela Class Page on this website you can download the PowerPoint presentation shown to those who attended.
Any questions please speak to me.
Our first full week in Mandela Class and we have been learning all about the man himself...Nelson Mandela. Finding out about his amazing life and how he changed the lives of the South African people forever.
Photos and more blog posts to follow (once all the parents have completed the photo permission forms!)
