Over the last few days we have been putting ourselves in the shoes of the South African ANC members during the time of apartheid and writing protest speeches. Our mission was to persuade ordinary South Africans to support the anti-apartheid movement and help abolish segregation. We have worked hard to include a range of Literary devices to persuade the listener including: emotive language; weasel words; dare to disagree expressions; rhetorical questions; short and snappy phrases as well as longer complex sentences. It was great fun to stand up on our chairs and read our speeches to each other. Everyone really got involved, giving an emotive speeches. Well done!
