What a busy day we have had in Year 2 today! In our literacy, we have been looking at 'Concrete Nouns' and 'Proper Nouns'. Yesterday we learnt that a concrete noun is a person, place or thing, such as 'girl', 'ball' and 'film'. Today, we learnt that a proper noun is still a person, place or thing, but they are more specific, giving more information. For example 'Amy', 'Felixstowe beach' and 'Toy Story'. Our task today was to sort both concrete and proper nouns into their correct categories. We firstly had to find the written nouns posted up around the classroom. We then had to decide if we had found a concrete noun or a proper noun, and stick it onto the corresponding whiteboard. Take a look at our work....
