This morning the Fearless Foxes have been crate stacking, the Super Squirrels have been on the power fan and zip slide and the Mad Monk Jacks have been building rafts!
In between all the many planned activities we have lots of time to play games, some of our favourites are: Manhunt, Fishy Fishy, Camouflage and Fruit Salad. Everyday we get a chance to have a bonfire too! Firstly the Fearless Foxes went canoeing and then they went on the climbing wall and the power fan. The Mad Monk Jacks went on the climbing wall and power fan and then in the caves. They finished the afternoon off playing archery. The Super Squirrels went in the caves, then had a go at archery. They ended the afternoon canoeing (and searching for MC's glasses - which sank to the bottom of the river!!!)
This morning the Mad Monk Jacks have been canoeing and jumping in the river! The Super Squirrels have been on the climbing wall (where everyone of them climbed to the top of the tower). SG was the fastest as he climbed it in a speedy 30 seconds! They also did the power fan. The Fearless Foxes went caving and played archery. After dinner (lots of happily full children) went deeper into the woods to collect firewood and play Manhunt. Afterwards we all sat round the fire, toasting marshmallows and chatting. A great first day. Lots of happy children - hopefully lots of tired ones too!
This afternoon the children worked in their groups to undertake team building activities; low ropes, the king's balance, spider's web, the rope swing platform, blindfold obstacle course and many more.
This was fascinating to watch and (at the moment) communication needs improving! The instructors have been reminding the children that good teamwork comes about when people listen more and talk less :-) We are looking forward to seeing the children grow and build upon these skills as the week progresses. |
