In our first 'Finger gym' Masterclass session, we started by carefully painting over 'tricky words' with cotton buds....this was to help develop our fine motor skills, by using our fingertips to hold and control the cotton buds. We also used our phonic knowledge to read the tricky words aloud.
We were then all given some 'Disco dough' which we had to pinch, splat and roll in our palms along to a 'disco' video on the Interactive whiteboard. This was to develop both our fine and gross motor skills.
Our last activity was a more 'calming' and relaxed one. We sat at the table to practise our handwriting, With some calming Disney piano music on in the background, we used our fine motor skills and pencil control to practise our letter formation.
Well done to all the children for a brilliant first Masterclass!
