Well done everyone!
Sadly, that is the end of choir this year, as Mrs Cockerill is very busy with her Year 5 class on the residential and other fun activities.

The choir put on a concert for their parents and families on Tuesday. We have a fantastic turn-out to watch the concert. The children sang a wide range of songs, from classical to pop, from musicals to Gilbert & Sullivan. They performed as a whole choir, as soloists, duets and trios.

The children in choir have been coming forward to sing solos and duets and for the slightly less confident, small ensemble groups - with some impressive voices amongst them.
The children gave me goose bumps singing Bright Eyes and Colours of the Wind today. Absolutely superb singing. The parents are in for a real treat in our concert. We have a performance in the diary for choir!
Tuesday 7th May at 4pm. The children will be sharing all the songs that they have learnt in choir and singing some duets and trio sections within these too. We can't wait to show off what we have been learning with the family's of of our choir children. Some of the choir sang at the Kirton Carol Service on Sunday. They were amazing and sang beautifully. The gentleman in the photos is Andrew. He wrote the Drummer Boy arrangement and played the piano. Well done everyone. 👏
Choir is due to restart on Tuesday 14th November.
I am so excited! Just a little update from Mrs Cockerill that choir will start again in November after the half-term break. We have some exciting things to look forward to!
Due to the large number of events going on in the Year 5 class, choir has sadly finished for this academic year. Watch this space later in the autumn term to see what our choir will get up to!
We had a most wonderful concert at Trimley St Mary on Wednesday evening. Both choirs performed together with some songs and then each choir sang individually too.
Both choirs showcased some excellent comradery in supporting each other as they sang, showing off some wonderful choral voices collectively, as well as some brilliant soloists, duets and quartets. Unfortunately, we are unable to upload any photos or videos of the event but it is fair to say that the wonderful concert was most certainly enjoyed by everyone involved. As Mrs Ross said at the end of the concert, "It is just so nice to have two schools working together to create the concert, rather than competing against each other as happens with sporting events." It was suggested that perhaps this could become an annual event. Who knows? Watch this space... |
Mrs CockerillI am absolutely passionate about singing and want to encourage the children at Trimley St Martin to explore singing a range of music, whilst giving them performance opportunities within the school and the local community. Archives
