Due to the large number of events going on in the Year 5 class, choir has sadly finished for this academic year. Watch this space later in the autumn term to see what our choir will get up to!
We had a most wonderful concert at Trimley St Mary on Wednesday evening. Both choirs performed together with some songs and then each choir sang individually too.
Both choirs showcased some excellent comradery in supporting each other as they sang, showing off some wonderful choral voices collectively, as well as some brilliant soloists, duets and quartets. Unfortunately, we are unable to upload any photos or videos of the event but it is fair to say that the wonderful concert was most certainly enjoyed by everyone involved. As Mrs Ross said at the end of the concert, "It is just so nice to have two schools working together to create the concert, rather than competing against each other as happens with sporting events." It was suggested that perhaps this could become an annual event. Who knows? Watch this space... Last night we had our choir rehearsal at Trimley St Mary. It was so exciting to go to a different school. We ran through all the songs in preparation for our concert tonight.
We can't wait to perform at our little concert tonight - our first joint concert with our nearby school, Trimley St Mary. On Tuesday we had a visit from Miss Moon, the choir organiser for Trimley St Mary. She listened to the children singing Bright Eyes so she could hear the words fit to the music. She gave the children some singing tips too.
Then, on Thursday, I went over to Trimley St Mary to visit their choir. I helped the children to learn the song Bright Eyes. It was so exciting to meet the children that our school will be singing with! In just one week, on Tuesday 16th May, we will have our joint choir practise and then on Wednesday 17th, our Concert - how exciting! Have fun learning the songs. The tracks are on the post below this one. Happy singing! Mrs Cockerill Here are the lyrics and the music tracks for the songs that we are singing in the joint concert with Trimley St Mary. The music tracks are just as we have been learning them during choir. Have a look at the attached and begin to learn the lyrics. We will be singing these songs without words in the concert. Have fun! Don't forget that I want some children to sing the verses of Nellie the Elephant, wither solo, duet, quartet, etc. We will discuss this at next choir practise. ![]()
We have been learning some more songs to prepare ourselves for our concert. Here is a a snippet from Singing In The Rain. Our fabulous choir are going to join forces with the choir of Trimley St Mary in May. How exciting!

Mrs CockerillI am absolutely passionate about singing and want to encourage the children at Trimley St Martin to explore singing a range of music, whilst giving them performance opportunities within the school and the local community. Archives
