On Tuesday we had a visit from Miss Moon, the choir organiser for Trimley St Mary. She listened to the children singing Bright Eyes so she could hear the words fit to the music. She gave the children some singing tips too.
Then, on Thursday, I went over to Trimley St Mary to visit their choir. I helped the children to learn the song Bright Eyes. It was so exciting to meet the children that our school will be singing with! In just one week, on Tuesday 16th May, we will have our joint choir practise and then on Wednesday 17th, our Concert - how exciting! Have fun learning the songs. The tracks are on the post below this one. Happy singing! Mrs Cockerill Here are the lyrics and the music tracks for the songs that we are singing in the joint concert with Trimley St Mary. The music tracks are just as we have been learning them during choir. Have a look at the attached and begin to learn the lyrics. We will be singing these songs without words in the concert. Have fun! Don't forget that I want some children to sing the verses of Nellie the Elephant, wither solo, duet, quartet, etc. We will discuss this at next choir practise.
We have been learning some more songs to prepare ourselves for our concert. Here is a a snippet from Singing In The Rain. Our fabulous choir are going to join forces with the choir of Trimley St Mary in May. How exciting!
Choir singing My Gift Is My Song by Elton John. enjoy! In choir we have been learning several songs; My Gift Is My Song, Forever Autumn, Bright Eyes, Singing In The Rain, Bad Guys and Nellie The Elephant - so far! Whilst learning the songs, the children are learning about how the songs make you feel, dynamics, and intonation. Here is a short excerpt of Nellie The Elephant. We are so excited that choir is back! We can't wait to see what we get up to this term. Watch our bog for more info.
I am very excited to announce that choir will be starting again on Tuesday 24th January. We have lots of exciting songs to learn - from a wide variety of genres.
Letters will be sent home this week. Thank you Mrs Cockerill and Mrs Hammond Choir shall be taking a short break and will begin again later in January. Watch this space for exciting news of our next venture!

Mrs CockerillI am absolutely passionate about singing and want to encourage the children at Trimley St Martin to explore singing a range of music, whilst giving them performance opportunities within the school and the local community. Archives
