Maths - We started off by thinking about and solving some number problems some of our explorers had. We used our knowledge of counting in 2s, 5s, and 10s to help us.
PE- First of all in PE we thought the describing words used for the different movements within the story and we acted out how the characters in the book explore the long, wavy grass, the thick, oozy mud and the big, dark forest etc. Then, covering the screen, Mr Childs played some different types of music and we had to guess what sort of music it was and move to the style of it. We had forest, ocean and space music.
Art - We drew some fantastic pictures of Amelia Earhart who we have been learning lots about.
English - Pirate codes. In pairs, we were given a sheet with different pirate type images on - each of which represented a different letter. We were then given a separate sheet which we were told had a secret message on which would tell us where the treasure was. We had to use the pirate code to figure out the message!
Thank you to all of you for making the children into fantastic explorers - they all looked brilliant and were beaming as they came in! A great day was had by all!
