Clay: 3D. Henry and the pebbles, the children responded to the story of Henry the pebble, his sister Beatrice and their Uncles, Arthur and George. We developed an understanding of lots of techniques, rolling, squeezing and rubbing while Henry went on his adventure. We finished with designing our own tiles, we made impressions in the clay using lots of different objects. The children loved getting messy!
Textiles. Wrapping and Knotting. Using colourful fabric strips, ribbon, string and wool, the children were given two pieces of wooden doweling. Using knotting and wrapping techniques, the children made pretty hangings and frames.
Textiles. Fabric hangings. Embellishing fabric with Brusho (dye). Carrying on from the previous textile session lesson, the children decorated the fabric with primary colours. The children enjoyed watching as the fabric absorbed the dye and sometimes mixed to make a secondary colours. They look fantastic!
