During our first morning, we spoke about the worries we may have. We read a book called ‘The big bag of worries’ in which a girl had a big bag of worry monsters she was carrying around with her until a kind lady helped her sort through them all.
Quite a few of us had so be worried about starting a new class, so we wrote our worries down, and then ‘fed’ them to the worry monster to help us sort them out.
As the week went on we spoke about who we could speak to about our worries, and then how we felt once our worries had been spoken about and 'thrown away'.
We have been getting to know our class rules and routines, reward systems and general classroom surroundings.
We have also been busy making a special piece of art work for our ‘class values’….watch this space!
On Thursday some of us got to watch the bike race go past and cheer the cyclists on!
Well done Year 1!
