A great end to this half terms Geography topic of 'where does our food come from.
This half term our geography topic is about the journey of food. Thinking about where our food comes from and how it goes through processes before being eaten.
We were lucky enough to visit the local farm shop where we got to look at fresh produce. We looked at which foods were locally grown and which animals the meat came from. We also got to spend our 50p on a fruit of our choice. We went on to sort foods thinking about whether they came from an animal or plant. This week has been anti-bullying week and we have been thinking about the difference between an argument and bullying behaviour. The focus word of our lesson was ‘Respect’ and we learnt that it’s ok to disagree with someone if we do it respectfully.
We talked about the different emotions that we may have if someone disrespected us and how we can use the acrostic poem attached to help us handle conflict. The children have made a super start to their Geography topic of 'What are seasons'. We have been thinking about different types of weather and weather symbols. This week we enjoyed presenting our own weather forecasts. We looked at weather from around the country and world and used our weather words in our scripts. Some wonderful presenting Year 2. Next week we look forward to learning about 'The wind'. |
