Well done Year 2 excellent use of the learning gems:
We have been practising using adjectives to make our writing more descriptive. We’ve also focused on using capital letters and full stops consistently- which can be tricky when you have lots of wonderfully creative ideas that you want to write down quickly! Well done Year 2 excellent use of the learning gems:

Well done Year 2 excellent use of the learning gems: Keep your eyes peeled for our performance video in a few weeks time!
Yesterday we explored how planet earths rotation towards the sun affects the type of weather we have. This happens during our different seasons. We found that we are facing closer to the earth during Summer this is why the temperature is hotter and it is often sunnier for longer. However in Winter it is colder and darker because we are facing further away from the sun. We made these excellent plate models to demonstrate our understanding. Excellent use of these learning gems:
This half term we have been learning about how 'sorry' is sometimes the hardest word to say. Here is some of the learning that has helped us, answer this question.
In our Geography lessons we have been learning about the different seasons and the weather that they bring. We have looked at how the world is tilted and how this causes the different seasons through-out the year. We made these pictures to show the changes that happen to a tree during the year.
In Science we have been exploring the effect of exercise on our heart rates! Mrs Lawrence showed the how to check pulse by placing our fingers onto our wrist or neck. Then some kind volunteers demonstrated our experiment by completing star jumps for 1 minute. They then counted their pulse for one minute. We then conducted the experiment in small groups, choosing our own exercises to complete for one minute. Then we measured our pulse rate for one minute. We were all very excited to use Mrs Hayter's posh stop watches!!
We finished our lesson learning about the importance of sleep! Did you know a giraffe only needs 1.9 hours of sleep a day? Great use of these learning gems:Thank you for coming to our KS1 reading afternoon. We loved showing you our new Rhino reading books and paired reading session. Then our guided reading session focusing on Seaside poems. We look forward to showing our parents more exciting learning soon. |
