The activities we had were:
Money Twister – Post it notes with different money amounts where placed over the circles. An adult gave us to money amounts and we had to find the total and ‘spat’ the correct answer with a fly swat.
Money matching – We had a pile of flash cards with pictures of coins and notes on and a pile of flashcards with the written money amount on. We had to match the correct picture with the correct written value.
Money Bingo – We each had a bingo board with pictures of different coins on. One of us was the bingo caller who held up flashcards with different coin values on. If we had a matching coin on our bingo boards we covered it with a counter. The first to cover all their coins shouted BINGO and was the winner.
Sweet shop – An adult played the role of a shopkeeper who sold us each a packet of sweets. The shopkeeper sold us a packet of sweets for different amounts. We had to make the correct amount of money with the coins on the table to then purchase our packet of sweets.
Making amounts – We had money amount flashcards and some money on the table. We had to choose a flashcard and use the money to make the correct amount written on the flashcards.
