In our Geography lessons we have been learning about the different seasons and the weather that they bring. We have looked at how the world is tilted and how this causes the different seasons through-out the year. We made these pictures to show the changes that happen to a tree during the year.

In Science we have been exploring the effect of exercise on our heart rates! Mrs Lawrence showed the how to check pulse by placing our fingers onto our wrist or neck. Then some kind volunteers demonstrated our experiment by completing star jumps for 1 minute. They then counted their pulse for one minute. We then conducted the experiment in small groups, choosing our own exercises to complete for one minute. Then we measured our pulse rate for one minute. We were all very excited to use Mrs Hayter's posh stop watches!!
We finished our lesson learning about the importance of sleep! Did you know a giraffe only needs 1.9 hours of sleep a day? Great use of these learning gems:Thank you for coming to our KS1 reading afternoon. We loved showing you our new Rhino reading books and paired reading session. Then our guided reading session focusing on Seaside poems. We look forward to showing our parents more exciting learning soon. This week in our Art we have been looking at Aboriginal art work and didgeridoos. We have designed our own patterns and used ancient symbols to create our final pieces.
During our safari day we made our own safari themed sandwiches that we had planned during this term's DT project.
