We still managed to complete some great home learning though! This week has been another creative week - creating our own Pictograms and Block graphs in our maths and carrying out some exciting science and STEM experiments.
In art, we drew our own African Tribal masks using lots of bright colours. In our science experiments we made parachutes out of plastic carrier bags and attached lego men to see how they would float down. We also made our own volcano's using baking soda and food colouring - some of these results were amazing and we REALLY enjoyed making and watching them 'erupt'.
For our STEM experiments, some of us made 'Fireworks in a jar' using different food colouring and oil and some of us made 'Hot Ice' using ice and baking soda again. Both experiments produced some rather interesting results!
This week we had 2 class zoom sessions. On Monday in between playing in the snow and our learning, we had an indoor scavenger hunt and then on Thursday evening we played 2 types of Bingo - a number bingo and a 'tricky word' bingo. Both were lots of fun!
I think the children have been working super hard and their Half term break is well deserved!
Great work Year 2 - Keep it up!
