So for our STEM lesson today, we repeated last weeks exciting experiment again, but this time with 'giant' skittles and cold water instead of warm on the plate.
Almost straight away we noticed that the colours began to drain away from the sweet quicker and the colours were much more vibrant.
We discussed this and thought this maybe because the bigger the sweet, the more colour it was coated in.
This time, after a while we also turned the skittles over and saw the bottoms were almost completely white. We also think the smell of the skittles was stronger and sweeter.
The conclusion we drew upon was that the temperature of the water on the plate doesn't really matter, but the size of the sweet does. The bigger the sweet...the more exciting!
