Today we had a visit from a local historian Mr Lanigan. He gave us a fantastic talk about the history of Kirton placing it in line with the history of Britain. he made history come alive with lots of interesting artefacts ! He kindly gave us all a half penny to take home dated 1967 !!! A huge thank you for visiting our school and sharing with us your extensive knowledge of local history. A mathematics workshop was held last Thursday to which all parent's and grandparent's were invited. A workshop was a huge success !! The four calculation methods were visited and discussed in detail as well as the mathematical language used for each one. Everyone who attended enjoyed the session with their children went home saying they felt more secure with how to help and support their child at home with mathematics homework. A huge thank you to everyone that attended. Literacy has been both fun and challenging this term with lots of different text types to study. Wow !! What amazing talent we have in our class !!! Judged by our excellent panel of famous judges from Blake Walsh to Casey Cole many acts got through to the next round and only a special guest Mrs MacFarlane was buzzed off by Mr Blake Walsh !! We look forward to the next round !!! We have been working really hard to challenge our selves in mathematics this term and deepen our understanding through the use of manipulatives and good careful discussion. |
