YEAR 4 Assembly - A perfect end to the term!

What better way to finish the Spring Term, than with a superb class assembly!
The children in Pendleton class produced a Eurovision Song Contesy themed assembly which linked to music, dance, geography, history and literacy. The children in the audience were able to explain things that they had learnt from the assembly and so not only was it educational, it was also entertaining too. The adults spectating also got the chance to be involved with a voting card for the best country in the competition.

EASTER FETE

A huge thank you to the School Association for organising a lovely, successful Mini Easter Fete!

We managed to raise lots of money which in turn will fund projects within the school over the coming year.

Thank you also to those of you who sent in and provided cakes for the cake sale. The cakes were yum! I managed to test about 6! : )

And... thank you to those of you who bought the cakes and helped us raise the money!

Art Afternoon

Parents, friends and family came along to join in with some art lessons taking place in the classrooms. The children produced some lovely pieces of art and completed projects that were started at 9:30am and worked on right up until the end of the school day. Rather than carrying out a one-off art lesson, the children were able to research an artist or concept, learn about it, plan ideas and spend longer in the build up to the final piece of art work.

The day even had a strange effect on Mrs Wilson who turned into a French painter for the entire day!

The results? A wonderful selection of really good quality art work! Well done all!

Mr Childs is now here for 4 days per week!

When we expanded out the Junior Classes this year, in to one class per year group, we soon realised that we physically couldn't fit Mr Childs' P.E. lessons in to 3 days. So... I am pleased to announce that from April onwards, Mr Childs' joins us for four days per week, ensuring that he is able to teach all of our P.E. lessons.

This will no doubt go down well with the children who, in recent Pupil Perception interviews with the Governor responsible for P.E, were so complementary of Mr Childs' and their excellent P.E. lessons.

Mr Childs' will continue to run his after school clubs and his holiday clubs and he will now be based on the field at lunchtimes for 4 days per week setting up sports activities and supervising the play leaders.

The Eclipse?

So glad we had a plan B ready! On the day of the eclipse, we loaded up the live pictures of the eclipse filmed in venues where it could actually be seen, as hovering over Trimley was the biggest greyist cloud ever seen! The children in year 6 made moving eclipse pictures to make up for the fact they were unable to see the real thing.
Nevermind!
We can save the protective eclipse glasses for 2090!

Choir

The choir who will be representing the school at the Sing Out Against Cancer on the 24th April have had their photos taken for the display that will be set up on the day.
Parents of Choir pupils please make sure reply slips have been completed. Tickets for the event are available from Mrs Matthews.

Barlow Assembly

Well... Thank you Barlow class for an excellent class assembly! The whole thing was written by the pupils, they made their own props, and auditioned and allocated the parts amongst themselves.The whole thing was filled with great jokes, superb story telling, excellent costumes and most importantly there were children who are normally quiet and reserved really shining in front of the audience. This was a wonderful assembly which was enjoyed by parents and the children and I believe we definitely have some future actors in here! Well done Barlow!

Comic Relief !

I was devastated when I heard I was at a meeting on the same day as Comic Relief! Rest assured I was wearing this wonderful nose the entire day!

Well done TSM, we raised close to £300 for a great cause with our non uniform day and other fundraising events. Good job!

Rotary CLub - Felixstowe Fun Run

See details below that were sent to us regarding the Felixstowe Fun Run.

The FUN RUN takes place on May 4th Bank Holiday Monday.

It lasts for 1 hour, during which time the runners complete as many laps as they can of the mile-long course centred on the Spa Pavilion and along the promenade.

It doesn’t matter how they do it - run, walk, crawl, skip or hop.
Each runner will be given an individual sponsorship card to sign up as many sponsors as possible – as the organiser, the Rotary Club of Felixstowe charges a £4 entry fee for 16s and under and £6 for over 16s and you keep all the sponsorship money you raise to give to your chosen charity.
And we’ll even be awarding 3 prizes for the best fancy dress!
So come along, join in the fun, get fit, and raise valuable funds in the process!
