congratulations to our year 3 class who won the ipswich & south suffolk virtual pentathlon competition

Even though we can not compete in person against other schools across Suffolk as part of the School Games Partnership, we have been lucky enough to be able to take part in competitions against schools in Felixstowe and across Suffolk. With the fantastic support, dedication and clever restructure of competition by Suffolk School Games we can still take part.

Well done to our year 3 champs who really demonstrated the "Spirit of the School Games"!!

As part of Suffolk School Games we had a class set (KS1 & K2) of skipping ropes delivered in partnership with "Dan the Skipping Man". Most children across the school has had the chance to take part in skipping lessons with Mr Childs. We are hoping to have Dan the Man himself come to school to have whole class/bubble skipping sessions in the summer term (Conditions allowing).

Thanks Dan the Skipping Man... we are loving our new ropes!

Families and those in a support bubble - can access twice-weekly lateral flow tests which are being offered in England as we return to school on Monday 8th March amid mass coronavirus testing.

Testing is available at 500 locations around the country, including Brackenbury Sports Centre and at home through the online ordering system below.

The new mass testing was announced by the government on February 28, as it said testing will "continue to be a vital part of our response to Covid-19, supporting the roadmap set out by the Prime Minister."
Under the new system, whole households with primary and secondary school and college-age children and childcare and support bubbles, will be encouraged to start twice-weekly testing.

Rapid testing detects cases quickly - in under 30 minutes - meaning positive cases can isolate immediately. It can also mean the difference between children being able to stay in school, or a class being sent home due to an outbreak.

What happens if a test is positive?
With a positive parent/carer test, pupils will need to self isolate for the next 10 days and will learn remotely until they can return to class. Anyone testing positive with a lateral flow test done at home needs to book a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test at a local testing centre to confirm the result.
