We definitely earned these today....
10 children from Year 3 and 4 travelled to Inspire Suffolk in Ipswich to take part in the U9 Quadkids athletic event. Even in the boiling sun, we had many in the top 4 for our group in the sprint, distance, standing long jump and the Vortex throw. A massive thank you to Mr Childs for getting the children ready for this event and coming along to organise the children for each event and a huge thanks to parents who helped with transport and who came along to support the children!
We definitely earned these today.... Mrs Stockdale and her son found Martin on the Elmer Parade in Ipswich. Have you seen Martin? Have you any photos for the Elmer spotting competition? The best picture will get a special Elmer prize..... Add your photos here What an amazing elephant....
A thank you to Miss Rushbrooke for allowing me to spend my morning with Mr Childs, Miss Rowe and Mrs Boggis and the lovely children in Reception. I had a fabulous time watching (and joining in) as the children learnt about the animals that could visit our Wild Wood, discovering what lives in our pond, experimenting with textures in the feeling trays, looking after our chickens and so much more! The Wild Wood is such an invaluable resource for a wide and vast learning experience.
Thank you to Mr Childs and Miss Rowe who continue to improve it daily and to the School Association for the continued financial support. Without your support we would not have such an amazing place to learn.... I will be back for more fun and learning!!! Today 10 children from Year 5 travelled to Northgate Sports Arena in Ipswich to take part in the Quadkids Athletics competition. Each child had to take part in the 600m race, standing long jump, 75m sprint and the Vortex Throw. As always the children gave it their best, cheered each other on and had an amazing afternoon of sport. Well done for a great team effort!!! Today in assembly the children had a visitor from Felixstowe Library. Children can join the Space Chase Summer Reading Challenge at any local library What is the Summer Reading Challenge? The Summer Reading Challenge is the UK’s biggest free reading for pleasure event for children. It is run by the national charity The Reading Agency in partnership with the UK public library network. The aim of the Challenge is to encourage children to read any six books of their choice from their library during the summer holidays. The Challenge offers children and families an enjoyable activity in the six-week summer break from school when reading skills and confidence can dip, commonly known as the ‘summer slide’. Children receive special rewards each time they finish a book and there’s a certificate for everyone who completes the Challenge. Every year there’s a different theme. The Summer Reading Challenge 2019 theme is Space Chase, an out-of-this-world adventure inspired by the 50th anniversary of the first moon landing. Children taking part in the Challenge will join a super space family, The Rockets, for a thrilling mission to track down books nabbed by mischievous aliens! Space Chase will feature bespoke artwork from top children’s illustrator, Adam Stower, and will celebrate adventure, exploration, reading and fun! The Challenge will launch in libraries in England and Wales on Saturday 13 July 2019. Click the link above for more information
