After having to write job applications, get short listed and then have proper job style interviews in the teacher's office, we now have this years committee leaders.... Trimley St Martin again this year were awarded the Gold Award for Sport. Presenting our plaque to our Sports Crew was Ali Furlong.
Musical.ly has a new name - TikTok
The social network app Musical.ly has often given adults cause for concern, because of the way that children use it to generate and share their own short videos and lip sync to popular audio clips. The app has a new name and new features, and now includes live streaming. Although the app has an age-limit of 13 years old, in practice there will be younger children using it, and the content may not be suitable. Profiles on TikTok are automatically set to public, so that any content you post can be seen by anyone within the app. There is also a Restricted Mode which can help to filter out inappropriate content and prevent the user from being able to start their own live streams. You can find out more here: https://www.saferinternet.org.uk/blog/what-tiktok-looking-latest-lip-syncing-app Elmer the Elephant is coming to Trimley St Martin. Many of you will remember the "Pigs Gone Wild" in Ipswich and the trail around town, well this time it is Elmer the Elephant and we have one being delivered here for us to decorate. Once we have all the information, we will be going Elmer wild with lessons in school, a big design competition and much more more. Keep an eye out for our delivery after Christmas...... Elmer's Big Parade Suffolk is a Wild in Art event in support of St Elizabeth Hospice and we have already raised £174.91.
To mark the end of Friendship week, we handed out our Power for Good Awards. Congratulations to all those that were nominated by their friends, teachers and school staff! We had over 30 certificates handed out in assembly to celebrate all our good friends. Congratulations to Erin who was nominated more than anyone else and was crowned the perfect friend..... Remember.........It is with regret that the School Association has taken the decision to cancel the 80/90s Disco due to poor ticket sales. The committee has been working very hard to arrange the event so this announcement is very disappointing. For the few who had purchased tickets please go to the school office, with your ticket, for a full refund. The School Association
