Thank you to the School Association for organising and running a fabulous End of Term Disco.

As always the event was a real success and all who attended had a great time, whilst raising money for the school.

Mrs Reynolds and Mrs MacFarlane were setting the dance floor alight with their superb dance moves! If only Strictly Come Dancing was open to non Celebrities!

At Trimley St Martin, we are trying to expose children to a range of sports; to see what they are about and how they can get involved. 

During assembly this morning, children who attend the SD Martial Arts club based here at TSM, showed the school the moves they have been practising and working on during the karate club. The group, who were accompanied by their main instructor, also discuss where karate came from and what is original purpose was. 

The children really enjoyed the presentation and some actually got involved! 

Leaflets were handed out to the children who showed interest in possibly taken up karate. This is not the only karate club to be based in the area, however, this club takes place at this school on Monday and Friday's and so would be ideal if any child was interested in attending. 

A huge thank you to SD Martial Arts for coming in today. 
 

Four Year 4 pupils were chosen to represent the school today at the Tennis Finals in Ipswich. Mrs Ross travelled with the pupils to the event. The team looked super professional and ready for action in their Trimley St Martin sports kit. 

The competition was tough but our pupils did us proud. They played really well and during the group stages actually beat three of pupils from the team who ended up in 2nd place.

A respectable 8th was earnt by the team. A good result considering the competition included some the strongest schools in the county. Mrs Ross and the parents who went along to the event were very proud.

An excellent day had by all at the TSM Sports Day and picnic lunch!

During assembly we discussed what it meant to be 'good' sportsmen and sportswomen and the children generated a clear list to use and apply at today's event. We discussed about competition and that life is competitive and that sometimes we might not win everything we do, but if we give it our best shot we can be proud. 

Both KS1 and KS2 did themselves proud today - the sportsmanship was superb. The children encouraged each other and the support from the Parents and carers was excellent. 

The picnic lunch was a huge success, helped by the fact that we did have such great weather! 

This is my first Sports Day here at Trimley St Martin, and I felt the balance of non competitive and competitive events was perfectly balanced. There's a few things we need to tweak before next year's event but overall, and having spoken to a number of you, it was a very successful event. 

Well done to BLUE COOL CATS, who were the overall winning team from the morning session and well done to the Yellow dragons who were successful in the afternoon session. 

But most importantly well done to every who took part and 'gave it a go'. I was very proud of all the children today! Great stuff! 

Thank you Mr Child's for a well designed and well organised sports day, thank you to the Teachers and support staff and thank you to all of the people who can along and encouraged all of the children. A big thank you for the School Association who ran the refreshments stall and preventing you all from wilting in sun! 

Well done to the school Kwik Cricket team who did themselves proud at Friday's Kwik Cricket event. As always our children were super behaved, excellent sportsmen and women and encouraged and supported the whole team whilst competing against some tough opposition.

The children gained sponsorship to take part in a Fitness Circuit activity today which was supported by TWO International Athletes. After the children took part in the Circuit challenge they had a chance to meet the athletes who discussed the event of Triple Jumping. They discussed their training, the competitions and demonstrated the event they compete in. 

The main aim of today was to inspire the children by giving them a chance to meet someone who is competing at an international level in a sport they will be accessing this half term. I'm hoping that TSM children may be inspired to go on and take part in sport at any levels.
