We have completed our geography unit where the children have learned where the UK is and the other names, such as the British Isles, Great Britain and the United Kingdom. The children have then discovered where in the UK they live. Then, the children learnt about the redevelopment of Stratford in London and how the Olympic Games were held there and how the development is sustainable. Then, we explored the bombing of Coventry in World War II and the rapid regeneration that happened in Coventry as a result of this. The next lesson we had a visit from our historian and explored maps and Trimley in the past. Finally, we looked at how Trimley is going to change in the future, with us expecting a new school to be built in the near future. We finished with the children creating artwork of Trimley in the past, present and future. Most of the children focused on the changes to our school - which of course they can relate to the most. Here are a few of the pieces of artwork. They have used the adventurous gems as they completed this.
