The money raised by each class will go into their own pots of money. We've said to the children that the money is theirs to spend e.g. if they feel they would like more wet play games or if they want to have Viking come in to do some work with them they can choose to use some or all of their money towards it.
We want children to learn the value of money and start early in helping then to make decisions about how to spend it. We've already discussed why using it to buy sweets for the whole class may need to be reconsidered.
Enterprise skills are important. Some of our children may go on to achieve degrees and go in to particular professions. However, there will be a number of children who will enter the world of commerce or even decide to set up their own business. I've already seen children who show a particular talent for this just from last nights fete.
