Safer Internet Day 2018- Parents and Carers Pack- factsheet |
TRIMLEY ST MARTIN PRIMARY SCHOOL |
Today across the globe, children from all over the world have been involved with Safer Internet Day. At Trimley St Martin throughout the week each class has been discovering how to be SAFE ONLINE.
In assembly we listened to "Troll Stinks" This is a really great book to read with your children to introduce them to the idea of internet safety. It is about a goat named Billy who finds a phone and rather than tell his parents about it, he gets up to mischief with his friend Cyril. They decide to send horrid messages to the troll who lives under the bridge. They then decide to find the troll to take a photo of her to put on the internet to show everyone how ugly she is. But when they get there, they find her crying because of the horrible texts she has received. Billy and Cyril realise the error of their ways and make friends with the troll. In class we have read "Chicken Clicking" One night Chick hops into the farmer's house and has a little browse on his computer. Soon she's bought a funny teapot, a frilly blouse, scooters for the sheep, and a car for the cows. She just can't stop clicking. She meets a friend online and off she goes to meet him (without telling her parents). But the friend she thought she'd met turns out to be a fox Information for parents
