No doubt a number of children in the school received a tablet, smart phone or laptop from Santa this year. They may have also asked you to sign them up to XBox live or something similar! Now you may think you've sussed the security settings and double checked that your child is using the internet appropriately, and that may well be that case, however, as a school we want to ensure we repeat that message and make sure children know how to be safe when 'on-line' a term that no longer just means going on the internet but opening an APP that is using the internet to share information. Mrs Campbell is in the process of preparing activities for Safer Internet Day on the 9th February but I've given you a link below if you feel you need to up-skill a little! On Monday, I went for my yearly E Safety update training and I thought I pretty much knew what the latest trends were... but... it appears that children this day are always one step ahead when it comes to APPS and new technology. As adults we may need to play catch up.
