THE EVENT...
Parents of the children dancing were invited to come along and support and the atmosphere was fantastic. Mrs Wilson, Mrs Lawrence and Miss Reynolds stepped in a judges. Miss Winton sang live in order to make the experience more authentic and I (Mr Stock) presented the show.
The children performed brilliantly... especially when you consider the year R and year 1 children are only 4 and 5 years old (performing in front of well over two hundred people. Wow!
In true Strictly tradition the results were calculated after the live show and were shown on Friday night at 7pm on this website.
The next dance will be the Charleston and the final for that will be in the next couple of weeks.
The whole purpose of this event was to (a) raise the profile of dance (b) highlight children that may have a particular talent for dance (c) to encourage people to get up and have a go. At the end of the show, I invited Mr Childs, Mrs MacFarlane and Mrs Thurlow up to the stage in order to have a go! We do have the video. If you want to see you'll need to be particular nice to those teacher and we will see what happens!
