This week we were looking at 1/2, 1/4 and 3/4 and finding out what their decimal equivalents were. We used the dienes again this week to help us. First we looked at 1/2. We covered half of a 100 square with the green tenths pieces, discovering we needed 5 tenths to do so. We remembered from last week that 5 tenths was the same as 0.5 so we concluded that 1/2 must be the same as 0.5. We did the same for 1/4 and 3/4.
We have also begun to learn to play the recorder. This week we practised the notes A and G so we could play along to one of the ABBA songs we have been learning in music.
