For a big finish to our history topic on local historical listed buildings we had a victorian school day afternoon. Our lessons were handwriting and spelling on chalk boards, followed by mathematics and making a Jack-In-The-Box.We had to stand up and ask permission to speak. We also stood up everytime an adult walked in the room. we found the rules quite srtict but also uite funny. We really enjoyed learning about school life in the past to fit with our school which is dated back to 1875! We reflected on school days in the past. We had a brilliant big finish to our mathematics year with a crime to solve. we used all the mathemtics knowledge we had gained throughout Year 4 and applied it to real life mathematics. We solved a crime of a burgulary at a mansion using coordinates, addition, muliplication, area, and measure. It was lots of fun to solve the crime.
We had a brilliant grammar scavenger hunt in our English lesson, looking for lots of English Grammar definitions to match our grammar terms.
We had a debate what to do with an old building. We represented the five interested parties, of Suffolk County Council, a Cinema Company, Housing Developers, The Docks Company and finally a Water Park. We put forward our views and arguments for saving the building or knocking it down and using the land for development. The final vote decided upon the land being developed into a Water Park.
