The children finished their unit on Judaism and have written a piece which reflects on the last five lessons where we have learnt about different aspects of the Jewish religion.

In maths, we have finished our unit of work on Multiplication and Division. We have looked at multiples, factors, common multiples, lowest and highest common multiples, prime, square and cubed numbers and multiplying and dividing by 10, 100 and 1,000. It has been such a lovely unit of maths for the children to learn about and I have certainly enjoyed teaching it too! This photo is of the children exploring cube numbers.
The children have used the adventurous, perseverance and cooperation gems. In science today the children have begun to learn about forces.
Force is the push and pull on an object. They began with discussions about gravity and what this means. They learnt that the gravitational pull of a greater celestial body keeps smaller planets trapped in the 'pull'. The Moon, being a smaller celestial body is kept within the Earth's gravitational pull and that everything stays on the Earth due to gravity as well. The children explored weights of objects in Newtons, using force meters and discovered that rain doesn't always fall straight down - as you might think it does - but instead is pulled to the Earth by its gravitational pull. The children used the cooperation and adventurous gems today. We have had such a lovely maths lesson today learning about square numbers. The children enjoyed exploring that they could use arrays of counters to create square numbers and that if they could not have an equal number of rows and columns on their arrays, then the number was not a square number. We then looked at how this is a number multiplied by itself and is denoted with the little 'floaty' 2. We explored how this is called a square number and also called to 'the power of'.
A lovely discussion then happened, where someone asked can the little 2 be a different number. The children were amazed to learn about how the 'little' number could be a 3, 4, 5, 6, etc. and how the number would keep multiplying by itself. Of course, these are then not square numbers. The children used the concentration and adventurous gems today We have been learning about Judaism in R.E. and today were enquiring into the word 'holy' and considering this is the context of the well-known bible Moses and the burning bush. Here are some examples of the children's work as they reflected on the lesson and questions relating to the use of the word holy.
