Pendleton class have been putting their super investigating skills to good use once again in science this afternoon. First they looked at bubbles, thinking about their size, shape, colour and the direction they go once they have been blown. Then they began to make their own bubble mixture using water and washing-up liquid. There was lots of excitement as some made bubbles that sat on the floor without popping for up to a minute and others blew bubbles that flew quite a way across the classroom.
They then looked at other things that could affect how well bubbles were made. Some children tested if the temperature of the water made a difference, some tried different types of water and the rest tested different types of washing-up liquid. They made some interesting discoveries but were also left with lots of unanswered questions!
Casey noticed that vibrations affected how long a bubble would last.
Maddy and Georgia want to know if they make a square wand will the bubble come out square?
Victoria and Madelynne want to know how to make a massive bubble.
Hopefully we will have some answers next week!
