The children have had a fantastic afternoon, working with a secondary school art teacher, completing 2 pieces of artwork. First they worked on stencil printing, creating prints with 3 different colour paints. They began this by drawing or tracing pictures of Greek items and then cutting them out to make their stencils. They used paint to cover a plastic sheet and then laid some of their stencils on to this, then rubbed the coloured paper they wanted to use to create their first print. This was then repeated another 2 times with different colours, creating some fabulous abstract prints.
The art teacher then worked with them to create clay pinch pots, decorating them using clay tools with Greek inspired patterns.
The children, as am I, are very proud of the artwork they have done. Well done children and a huge thank you to Miss Brown who gave up her spare time to come and teach us!
