We have made a start to our unit of work on weather. The children are beginning to learn different ways in which the weather is measured. We learnt that cloud cover is measured in oktas and we had a go at using okta grids to work out the average cloud cover. We also used thermometers to measure the temperature in differentiation locations and discussed why there were variations between the temperature in the sun and in shade.
We have also begun learning about the water cycle and the children have started writing some excellent explanation texts to explain the process.
