In music with Mrs Cockerill, the children have begun learning The Dragon Song, a song about kindness, respect and acceptance. Today, we began learning the note G and the children learned how to play this on a recorder to a rhythm as part of the song. The children are learning to play the recorders gently to avoid the high-pitched squeak that we are all too familiar with. Here are the children playing this and 'mostly' avoiding the squeak!

In computing this half term we have been exploring how to edit an existing project in Scratch by debugging and adding in extra commands such as using the pen tool, or changing the size. Todays challenge was to create a sprite and program it to walk around the maze, leaving a pen trail as it moves. GOOD USE OF THESE LEARNING GEMS:![]() After listening to and appraising another reggae song, this time by Amy Winehouse, the children had a practice on the glockenspiels and then the song. The children then completed a performance of Three Little Birds with half the class singing and the other half playing the glockenspiels. The children then swapped over. As you can see, the children clearly enjoyed their performances. The children used the creativity Gem. |
