During our basic skills lesson, the children were given a range of different activities they could complete to help them practice and learn their 3 times table.

Thank you so much for all those parents who came to our Math afternoon. We managed to have a good try at understanding all the different calculation methods for addition and subtraction.
Today we looked closely at plants, drawing and then painting them using watercolours.
We looked carefully at the flower part of the plant and the following day we learnt the names of some of the parts we had painted, including stamen, stigma and style. Whilst most of the class were at assembly, a few children helped me gather sticks, leaves and pine cones for their maths work. The leaves were worth hundreds, the sticks were worth tens and the pine cones/seeds were worth ones. I then told them a number to make with their equipment and we discussed the value of the equipment they had used. It was great to see them helping each other out and explaining why someone needed more sticks and less pine cones!
