We hope you enjoy reading this story, written by one of the children.
This is my story about discovering an animal: Higher and higher Our bags are packed and we're heading off to the mountain which might be taller than Mount Everest! Were driving off to the mountain base to get ready to climb. After ten long hours we're half way up the steep mountain. All around we can't see a single thing apart from thick clouds! It is harder to breath and we are all tired of climbing. We stop for a snack. Looking up we're surprised we still can't see the top! We look around and are scared to see a large, shadowy cave but after checking it is bear-free we sleep there for the night. We wake up nice and early the next morning and continue with our climb. After eight and a half hours we are exited to be at the peek. We are surprised to find it is really hot! We quickly find the reason for the heat- a new species we name the Hot Salamander! We've never seen anything like it before! It is quite big and is breathing fire! We quickly take a photo of it as none of us can believe it's real! We realise it'll be getting dark soon so we sled down the mountain to our cave. It gets extremely cold in the evening as we're sitting on our little seats in the cave and we find out our feet are trapped, frozen in the ice! And then...... Hot Salamander to the rescue! He burns the ice with his fire-breath and we bring him home with us! The end |
