In our RE lessons we have been thinking about Christianity and the Christmas story. We made our own Nativity scenes and decided how we would want to set them out and why.  We put the three Wise men behind Jesus because they have gifts for him. Joseph and Mary are near Jesus because he's their baby.  Jesus is in the middle because he would be in the middle of the stable. Mary is next to Jesus because he is her baby.

In our History lessons we have been learning about the Stone Age and looked at cave art found from the time. We have then tried to draw our own cave paintings showing the life of the Stone Age people.
This term we are designing and making our own soup. Today we tried 4 different varieties. Some we liked more than others :) Well done to all the children who were super brave and tried things they had never had before.
Thank you to all who were able to come and join us for our maths afternoon, I hope you enjoyed it and found it useful. We covered (a lot in the time!) Rounding and Adjusting, Partitioning, Column Addition and Problem solving. I really hope it helped you understand a little more of the strategies we use.
A few parents asked for an example on using the long method. If anyone else would like a copy of anything please don't hesitate to ask them. |
