Today's home learning literacy was a little different. The children watched a short film and then developed 3 key sentences about a part of the film (some added a few more sentences too). I was really impressed with the vocabulary choices they made. :)
Here are some examples: The big, blue bird found it was hilarious that the birds lost their feathers and were naked. "Why are you laughing at us?" asked the little birds. As quick as lightning, the birds dived behind the big, blue bird. Suddenly it started to rain feathers! The bird was so embarrassed he quickly covered himself with his hands. The mean, small birds stared at the ginormous, fluffy bird. "Are we going to fly up?" wondered Bella. Bella squawked as loud as thunder to try to get Poppy and Max to stop pecking. As she was saying it she popped into the air. Lots of mean little mischievous blue birds talked about a huge friendly bird. "Why won't the little birds let me play with them?" thought Charlie. The little blue birds screeched as loud as fireworks. All the birds fell. They lost all their blue feathers. The huge bird laughed as loud as thunder and the little birds ran away as quick as lightning. The beaky little birds were flapping and yapping in front of soft, fluffy clouds. "Will he ever stop pecking me?" grumbled Thomas. The little blue birds screeched as loud as fireworks. The rude, small birds gazed at the giant bird. Is there any consequence? thought James. The noise was a loud as thunder as the other birds screamed for Bob and Mary to stop. The beautiful, friendly bird spotted a space in between the spooked, confused angry birds.The big bird landed like an asteroid from space when the little birds were shouting like a volcano erupting. "What are you doing down there silly bird?" asked the little birds as the big bird landed. They tumbled down and got annoyed with the happy big bird. But the big bird just kept on singing! They got scared and all their feathers disappeared. Will our feathers come back? And how long for them to grow? I saw feathers falling and then naked tiny birds falling out of the sky. Tommy thought, "Why is he staring at us?" Freddie, the tall bird, was howling like a werewolf with laughter. The children have had a really busy start to their final half term in year 3. Not only have they been working on some maths and English tasks but they have also made time for science and art too :)
