Today is Outdoor Classroom Day! This is a global campaign to celebrate and inspire outdoor learning and play. On the day, thousands of schools around the world take lessons outdoors and prioritise playtime. In Year 3 we took our PSHE learning outside and competed in some team working, playground games from around the world.
We started with a game from China called catch the dragon's tail. This entailed of us making a long chain by placing our hands on the person in fronts shoulders. We had 1 person as the head of the dragon and one as the tail and the head had to catch the tail! It was great fun! We then played a game from the UK called Red Rover we had two equal sized teams All players in team A and in team B link arms to form two chains facing each other. Team A start by nominating somebody from team B to attempt to run and break through their chain. If the player manages to break through they return to their team and if not they join team A. The children were great at getting through the chain! Great Teamwork Year 3! A few parents have asked about the spelling app below are the details:
There are a range of apps called Squeebles and are created by 'KeyStageFun' who create exciting, colourful, educational games for children on the iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch, Mac and Android (including Amazon’s Kindle Fire devices). We hope this helps your child in learning our Year 3 spellings! Remember to focus on the 3 highlighted ones if your child is struggling. aIn maths we have been learning about the amount of days in each month, year and leap year. We have also been thinking about seconds in a minute and minutes in an hour. We have used this song to help us and we LOVE it! |
